About the Program
Over the past ten years, artEquity has successfully launched over 25 peer learning cohorts. Bringing alumni of various programs together is a vital part of our programming. Our Alumni Gatherings provide space for participants to gather in renewed solidarity, celebration, and strategy. We are committed to holding an Alumni Gathering every other year.
2025 Alumni Gathering
- provide an opportunity for us to (re)connect and recharge;
- center healing as our vibe;
- connect with local culture and artists/activists; and
- allow us to dream into a future of possibility.
2023 Alumni Gathering
Following 2019 and the development of other alumni groups including the National Board Training and BIPOC Leadership Circle, artEquity moved to hosting bi-annual gatherings with the goal of convening alums across all core programming.
In April 2023, we held our first Alumni Gathering that brought together alums across all of our programs including: National Facilitator Training, National Board Training, BIPOC Leadership Circle, and Women of Color in Leadership. Partnering with Black-led and -focused organizations in New Orleans, we gathered with alumni. Click here to read the recap!
2016–2019
The Alumni Convenings first began in 2016 as a way for alums from the National Facilitator Training (NFT):
- to connect and support each other;
- to discuss burning topics and challenges they were facing; and
- meet the current NFT cohort.
These Alumni Convenings were designed as a space of peer-to-peer exchange, building on the lessons from the original NFT training. These convenings were held annually between 2016–2019 in connection with the in-person NFT intensives. These convenings were held in
- 2016: St. Paul, Minnesota
- 2017: Los Angeles, California
- 2018: New Orleans, Louisiana
- 2019: Atlanta, Georgia
